The unified changes of the series standard BS 1363-X(1-5): 2023 include:
The rated frequency parameters cover 50Hz and 60Hz
The copper content of current-carrying parts is at least 58%
In the insulation resistance and withstand voltage tests, it is allowed to disconnect the indicator lights and built-in electronic components for testing.
New requirements for the breaking operating force test of double-break switches are added, and three different state samples need to be considered for testing.
Instructions for the single static position requirements of push button switches are added.
BS 1363-1:2023
Special changes to BS 1363-1:2023:
The rated voltage of built-in electronic switch plugs is allowed to be 230V, 240V or 250V
New requirements for creepage and electrical clearance between fuses and fuse clips and plug mating surfaces
Non-replaceable plugs are required to be tested with the maximum rated fuse that can be used for the corresponding wire diameter during overload testing, and replaceable plugs are tested with 13A fuses.
Added Appendix B to recommend plug test requirements for direct plug products.
Special changes to BS 1363-2:2023:
Added requirements for sockets with device circuit breakers
Added the definition and test requirements for independently protected sockets (IPS)
